Violinist Yao Jue and twenty outstanding string players from the Hong Kong String Orchestra will embark on their first Chinese New Year tour to four cities in Australia. The orchestra will perform in Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, and Melbourne from Jan 31 to Feb 7.
Renowned internationally for its fusion of Chinese and Western music, the Hong Kong String Orchestra will kick off the new spring chapter with the lively and festive melody of the Chinese New Year Overture.
Artistic director Yao will personally interpret a section of Vivaldi's Four Seasons on the violin, expressing the close connection between the natural cycle and human emotions, with each note narrating a tribute to the cycle of life.
The concert is part of the 2025 Happy Chinese New Year celebrations.
