Ways of clay

The exhibition of contemporary ceramic art, The Ways of Clay, opened at the UCCA Clay Museum in October, the latest addition to the skyline of Yixing, Jiangsu province, a city renowned for producing quality clay used to make well-crafted teapots.

The exhibition runs until Feb 23 and shows a selection of award-winning works from the International Ceramics Festival Mino from the collection of the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art in Gifu, Japan. It is a salute to the long-standing ceramic history that Yixing takes pride in. It also opens up a cross-cultural dialogue by gathering ceramic works by artists around the world, exposing people to the revival of a traditional medium via experimental methods. The museum is also the fourth venue in the museum constellation of the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art.
