Spring Festival performances announced

On Jan 29, a star lineup from the Jingju Theater Company of Beijing, including Chi Xiaoqiu and Yang Shaopeng, will perform classic Peking Opera pieces. It has been 16 years since the company last held shows during Spring Festival at the Forbidden City Concert Hall.

On Jan 31, the Tangshan Puppet Show Troupe will present one of its most popular shows, Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven.

Other highlights include shows by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and the Beijing Chinese Orchestra, featuring the likes of soprano Gan Lulu, pianist Zhang Jialin, and harpist Sun Shimeng.
