'Les Miserables' musical opens in Shanghai

Ticket sales for the upcoming tour of the musical phenomena Les Miserables will officially open at the Shanghai Grand Theatre on Dec 24.

The longest running musical on West End in London, UK, Les Miserables was also the first Western musical production to tour China, with 21 shows taking place at the Shanghai Grand Theatre in 2002.

Earlier this year Shanghai Media Group announced that the musical will come back to the Shanghai Grand Theatre. This will be the first return of the show in 23 years, and Shanghai will mark the only stop on the Chinese mainland for this round of the show's global tour.

SMG also announced the introduction of a new ticket changing system for audiences that purchase the presale of Les Miserables.
