The 15th Shanghai New Customization Week (SNCW) kicked off on Tuesday at Bund 22 in the city's Huangpu district, featuring a variety of fashion and cultural events, offering tailor-made fashion services and immersive experiences.
Hosted by Shanghai International Fashion Federation, the customization week was first launched in 2014. Over the past decade, it has become a platform to connect designers, brands and industries and contributed to fashion talent cultivation, as well as the overseas expansion of Chinese local fashion brands.
Sticking to the theme of promoting Oriental life aesthetics, a number of notable designers and brands are set to showcase their latest offerings over the week, including GuoPei, Grace Chen, Dan, WJX, Blue-Confidant and more.
"The 10-year exploration of the SNCW also marks the rise of China's fashion and haute couture industries … During the past decade, we have witnessed the rise of Oriental life aesthetics in the global scope, the constantly spread and growing confidence in traditional Chinese culture. The haute couture and customization market is getting bigger, with Chinese local brands are standing on the world stage," said Xu Xiaoliang, president of the federation and co-CEO of Fosun International.
