"The woman is a local cook who specializes in making this food for friends and family but also for sale, which is why she had made so many of them," he said.
"I didn't need many shots to capture this one, because I knew this scene in advance, so I knew what I was looking for. I knew the lighting would be good early in the morning as the sun came up, so I tried a few different angles before coming up with this one."
The detail of the cook entering the room with a freshly-cooked batch, awaiting the addition of the red paste on top, adds a sense of movement to the image.
"She steams them outside, then brings them all in to add just a little touch of red bean paste as the finishing touch," he said.
