In honor of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, a special concert took place at teamLab, an immersive museum located within Chaoyang Joy City, a bustling shopping destination in Beijing, on May 18.
Musicians from the China National Symphony Orchestra delivered a mesmerizing performance of 17 art songs, featuring a mix of French compositions and adaptations of ancient Chinese poems. The repertoire included renowned pieces like the Flower Duet from the opera Lakme by Leo Delibes, with a French libretto by Edmond Gondinet and Philippe Gille, as well as Spring Flower and Autumn Moon by Li Yu, a prominent poet from the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Accompanied by talented musicians such as pianist Li Yue and cellist Zhang Bo, the concert captivated the audience with its diverse selection of musical pieces.
As the music filled the air, attendees immersed themselves in the artistic ambiance of the museum, exploring a multidimensional world that transcended physical boundaries, adding an extra layer of depth and engagement to the concert experience.
