During the upcoming May Day holiday, a grand outdoor live-action performance showcasing Tangshan's rich history as a city of steel will unfold at Nanhu Park in Tangshan, Hebei province.

Scheduled to commence at 8 pm daily from May 1 to 5, the show promises to be an immersive experience for attendees.

Tangshan, the birthplace of China's first steam locomotive and standard gauge railway, continues to stand as an industrial hub, boasting the world's largest steel production. The live show aims to transport the audience through time, offering a glimpse into the city's industrial heritage.

Audiences will be treated to a spectacular display as a life-sized replica of a locomotive thunders onto the stage from a square, accompanied by the resounding sound of its whistle. The performance will feature captivating dancing, acrobatics, and a customized 180-degree LED ultra-wide screen, creating an unforgettable visual spectacle.

Director Chen Sheng said, "For Tangshan people, trains and steel not only represent the history and tradition of the city but also embody its indomitable and ever-enterprising spirit."

The show pays homage to Tangshan's industrial heritage, providing a panoramic view of the city's enduring vigor and creativity, Chen added.

The production will also integrate Tangshan's renowned intangible cultural heritage, including shadow puppetry and Pingju Opera, combining them with modern street dance and electronic music, offering a contemporary twist on traditional art forms.

In addition to the live show, representative tourist attractions in Tangshan, such as Nanhu and Huahai parks, and Longshan Pavilion, will feature photo spots with giant flower displays, flower waterfalls, and interactive performances, adding to the celebratory ambiance during the holiday.
