Huang Chenyu comes from a family in Zhejiang province that produced sculptors. His interest in sculpture, first nourished by the family business, has extended to works and crafts of different times, including the method of bronze casting which produced those fine examples centuries and millenniums back.
He has recently unveiled his latest collection of tin bronze sculptures at a show in Hangzhou, which were inspired by the culture of 12 Chinese zodiac animals and which visualize the creatures in ancient mythologies.
They are on show with pieces of silk embroidery that show similar mythological motifs to create a chemistry.
