A new gallery, Taimeless, will open in the popular Italian tourist resort of Taormina in Sicily, with an opening gala scheduled to take place at the medieval mansion Palazzo Ciampoli on March 23.

Chinese contemporary artist Zhu Wei will be a major figure featured in the gallery's collections, along with Italian painter Lorenzo Chinnici and French sculptor Michel Anthony. Zhu also serves as the executive director of the Tsung-dao Lee Center of Sciences and Arts, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The gallery is co-founded by Francesco Chinnici, Italian art curator, Antonio d' Aveni, founder of Italian open-air museum Fiumara d'Arte, and the Italian real estate and investment company, Scimandra.

The name Taimeless is a combination of Taormina and "timeless", standing for Timeless Immortal Art, a project founded by Lorenzo Chinnici to promote global art exchanges. Lorenzo Chinnici and Zhu have been collaborating in landing the project in China and hosting dual exhibitions in Chinese cities.

"In the gallery we present works in all media, including painting, drawing, sculpture and installations. We try to cultivate lines that connect emerging and established artists," says Francesco Chinnici.

"The true luxury that mankind can afford is time, the only thing that does not discriminate on the basis of wealth. The project's mission is to give time, to allow the viewers to experience the feeling of rapture that only the works of the masters of art can give, in the knowledge that art is freedom without limits."

At the ceremony, Italian jeweler Francesco Berte will unveil Taimeless One, a piece of jewelry created under the inspirations of the gallery's concept.

"Inside the gallery, there is also an area reserved for exclusive jewelry and accessories, museum exhibitions and special projects, which, thanks to the collaboration of world-famous curators, will offer targeted artistic advice to collectors and a demanding and exclusive clientele," D' Aveni says.
