The China Cultural Center in Malta recently opened a Chinese language and culture course tailored for teachers from Quality School International (QSI) of Malta.
This was because the center learned that the school's principal Patrick Doherty and some of its teachers will start working at its Shenzhen campus, in South China's Guangdong province next school year and they wanted to learn Chinese and get to know more about Chinese culture before their departure.
The center then designed a course featuring the Chinese language, Chinese culture, history and customs, and features about the city of Shenzhen, and selected a qualified teacher from Shenzhen to teach the course.
Doherty will be the regional director of China and Southeast Asia in the QSI Group. He said that the teachers and students of the school visited the center last June and were deeply impressed by the rich Chinese culture. This will be his first time working in China, and he is looking forward to it.
The principal expressed sincere gratitude to the China Cultural Center Malta for tailoring the course for the teachers, and learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture before the trip meant a lot to them.
