A new performing arts venue was opened in Beijing by Music Fans, a company that has organized some 4,000 performances around the country over the past 18 years.

Located in the popular commercial area of Land Port City in Changying, in the eastern part of Beijing, the new venue houses three spaces suited to performances of classical music, musicals, jazz, and theatrical productions.

Qin Land Folk Music, an ensemble of traditional Chinese musicians, and Music Fans Classical (MFC), a chamber music ensemble, performed for the opening ceremony on Oct 17.

The venue is the second to be opened by Music Fans. Their first performing arts space, opened in 2020, is located in Sanlitun area, a trendy Beijing hub.

Music Fans also owns a symphony orchestra, the Beijing Union Symphony Orchestra. Headed by conductor Fan Tao, it is the first privately owned symphony orchestra in the capital and has plans to play at the venue. Other artists on the schedule so far include New Zealand folk singer-songwriter Luke Thompson and Argentine jazz singer Karen Souza.
