The "I Love Italian Olive Oil" master class, organized by the Italian Trade Agency Beijing office and co-hosted by the Italian Embassy in China, was held in Beijing on Thursday.
The event invited domestic professional olive oil tasters, providing an immersive olive oil master class for 50 catering professionals, as well as professionals from the food industry, lifestyle media and influencers.
During the event, the professional olive oil tasters provided detailed introductions to the production process, characteristics and tasting techniques of olive oil. Through interactive sessions, everyone experienced the unique charm of olive oil.
The purpose of this event is to promote awareness and recognition of Italian olive oil in the Chinese market, as well as to enhance exchange and cooperation between Italy and China in the field of food.
It is also a further step to deepen the cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural and food sector since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the traceability of Italian extra virgin olive oil in China in August 2022.
Gianpaolo Bruno, trade commissioner of the Italian Trade Agency Beijing office, mentioned that Italian olive oil is renowned for its high quality and exquisite taste, making it one of the most sought-after condiments in the world.
"Italy has a long history of olive cultivation, coupled with favorable climate and soil conditions, enabling Italian olive oil producers to develop unique and distinctive flavors that set their products apart," Bruno said.
