“Farewell on the Prairie” by BAI Juyi
Prairie grass so lush,
Every year it dies and revives.
Wild fires cannot burn it off,
Spring winds breathe life back to all.
Ancient roads can smell its scent from afar,
Barren cities are linked by its verdant green.
Farewell, my illustrious friend,
Even the grass heaves with our parting sorrows.
