The first activity of 2023 Happy Chinese New Year in Iran, a painting contest award ceremony, was held in Iran on Jan 4.
The contest collected a total of 427 entries from young people whose ages ranged from 7 to 16. The theme of the paintings included Chinese landscapes, mythical stories and traditional customs, echoing the image of China in those young minds.
All the entries will be shown online and the selected ones will be exhibited for a month and published as albums.
Chang Hua, Chinese ambassador to Iran attended the ceremony along with nearly 180 local officials and representatives from Shahid Beheshti University and University of Tehran.
Chang said the cultural exchanges between China and Iran are seeing an increase, further enhancing the mutual understanding. He hoped the contest could bridge the young people of the two nations and carry on communication and cooperation.
