Colombian Minister of Culture, Angelica Mayolo, congratulated the Chinese Language International Day. She said she hopes the young Colombians can polish their Chinese language skills which can then become bridges of cultural exchange between the two nations.
Adriana Rios Piñeros, a local student attended the event.
"I love the Chinese customs and Mandarin. It is a language so different from ours. Spanish is a common language, we listen to it every day, but the Chinese language is different, and is an interesting one. I am a Public Administration student, if I go to China to study the language, surely, I will perform better", she said.
The event was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Colombia; the Center for Language Education; International Cooperation, ChinesePlus; Chinese Bridge Club in Bogota and with the coordination of the Confucius Institute of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University of Bogota.
