The opening ceremony of an annual charity meeting, where young people from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area shared their own unforgettable experiences of participating in charity activities, was held on April 23.

The event, co-organized by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Guangdong Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Hong Kong Rosamond Foundation and Macao Foundation, held four parallel sessions respectively in Beijing, Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macao and livestreamed them on Tencent's video-sharing platform where they attracted more than 150,000 online viewers.

Some Winter Olympians, including short track speedskater Zhang Chutong and Hong Kong alpine skier Audrey Alice King and volunteers who helped at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, delivered speeches.

Wang Chuqiao, a middle school student from Guangzhou, Guangdong province, shared his personal experiences in taking part in different charity activities since he was 10. He said these experiences helped him to see a bigger world and meet people from varied backgrounds.

Besides, 77 charity projects in such fields as cultural inheritance, medical service improvement and life education were initiated at the annual meeting.
