A national conference was held in Beijing on March 28 to commend 44 young and middle-aged artists who excel in both professional expertise and moral integrity.
The conference, in its fifth edition this year, was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
About 400 government officials, members of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and practitioners of art and literature attended the conference in person or via video call, and 44 artists were awarded.
Soprano Chen Xiaoduo read a letter of proposal on behalf of representatives of the conference, which called for all art and literature practitioners around the country to promote the Chinese spirit, create people-oriented and high-quality works, and maintain a high standard of moral conduct.
