Auction is a new picture

Grace Zhuang, co-head of the 20th and 21st Century Art: Shanghai Evening Sale, says contemporary art has become a global language and form of expression. She adds that the creative output by emerging artists has captivated the hearts of connoisseurs across the world, transcending geography, age and cultural backgrounds.

The sales event also marked the official opening of Christie's new space at No 1 on the Bund, a historical building from 1916. Spanning 1,600 square meters, the space will be used to host auctions, exhibitions, salons and public education events.
