Celebrity competition show airs seventh season

The seventh season of the hit TV show Trump Card VS Trump Card recently aired on Zhejiang TV.

The show, hosted by comedians Shen Teng and Jia Ling, singer-songwriter Hua Chenyu and actress Guan Xiaotong, invites celebrities to compete in a variety of games to vie for a "trump card", with each episode focusing on a certain theme.

For instance, the latest episode provides participants an opportunity to experience different aspects of the culture of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) when playing games.

Dressed in traditional costume, participants have immersive experiences in a scenario where poems, paintings, folk customs and delicacies of the dynasty are displayed. Experts in folk culture and history also appear to illustrate stories behind the era's literary works.

Celebrities who share their personal stories in the new season include Olympic gold medalist Cui Wenjuan; Tang Limei, the first female scientist to dive in China's manned submersible Jiaolong and an Antarctic explorer; Xin Hao, one of the first winners of China's environmental prize; Wang Yunfeng, a young village cadre in Zhejiang province's Changxing county; Zhu Jiaqing, an outstanding medical worker in the fight against COVID-19 and Yueju Opera performer Cai Jie.
