Chen Hailiang has devoted decades to the practice of Chinese calligraphy. He is showing 12 hand-written pieces in the styles of xingshu (semi cursive), caoshu (cursive) and xingcao, a script between the other two, at the National Art Museum of China.

The content includes poems from the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1271) dynasties and excerpts from classical texts by literary masters.

Chen maintains a firm belief in the charm of classical calligraphy, and his output is exuberant and detailed. The show ends on March 5.
