Chinese singers, including Kou Jing, Wang Hexiang and Zhang Wenqin, performed at Beijing International Club on Jan 11 in a concert marking the new year.
Led by conductor Lyu Jia, who is the music director of the National Center for the Performing Arts, the singers performed both Chinese and Western music works, such as arias from operas L'elisir d'amore and Don Pasquale both by Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti, Madama Butterfly by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini and Chinese songs, such as Xinjiang folk song, A Glass of Mellow Wine.
The concert was organized by Beijing Diplomatic Service and Global Arts Development Fund for Chinese, which was initiated and launched by Lyu in 2018.
Diplomats from various countries, including Ireland, Belgium, and Slovenia, attended the concert.
