Reality show highlights responsibilities of ordinary citizens

A reality show that invites celebrities to experience different kinds of jobs began airing on video-sharing platform Mango TV on Dec 10.

The show, titled Wo Men De Gun Tang Ren Sheng (We're living passionate lives), has garnered more than 117 million views on the platform with its first episode, according to the box office tracker Maoyan.

 

In the first episode, participants traveled to Urumqi, capital of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, to learn about fire hazard prevention from the city's fire brigade. Alongside local firefighters, the participants undertook intensive physical trainings, equipped themselves with fire hazard prevention knowledge and even went out to rescue people in emergencies for several days. By following the celebrities' footsteps, viewers could get closer to the occupation and a better understanding on the brave, heroic group of firefighters.

 

The show aims to connect a larger group of audiences to different grass-root occupations, highlighting the great sense of responsibility shouldered by many common people from various walks of life.

 

Celebrity participants include Hong Kong actors Jordan Chan and Julian Cheung, actor Zhang Jin and singer Zhang Qi.
