Forbidden City 12-hour marathon concert to pay tribute to Mozart

A concert was held at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing on Dec 1, featuring musicians including pianists Sheng Yuan and 12-year-old Du Peida, as well as organ player Shen Yuan and string quartet Amber Quartet.

Mozart's music works were performed, including Piano Sonata, in C Major, K 330 and String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, K 465.

The concert was a preview of a 12-hour marathon event to be held at the Forbidden City Concert Hall on Dec 12 that will pay tribute to Mozart by performing his music.

From 9:30 am to 9:30 pm, the event will see six concerts ranging from choral singing, chamber music and fortepiano. Two movies, an opera of Mozart's The Magic Flute produced by Bregenz Festival, Austria, and Amadeus produced by National Theatre Live, will be screened during the event.

On Dec 12, 2020, the Forbidden City Concert Hall launched the first 12-hour marathon event, which highlighted Beethoven.
