Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Alfonso Cuarón, and Guillermo del Toro – Mexico is not short of filmmakers who keep wowing the world with amazing stories and distinct styles.
Anyone who wants to explore the colorful Latin American country through its cinema, should not miss the 6th Contemporary Mexican Film Series, slated to open this Saturday at the X Museum in Beijing. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Co-organized by the Mexican Embassy in China, the Headquarters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in China (UNAM-China), and the X Museum, the two-day event features four premier Mexican cinematic works – two dramas and two documentaries – all produced in recent years by female filmmakers.
The four films representing different genres tell the stories of women in rich, diverse ways and show the colorful, complex Mexican society. We hope these films can transcend the boundaries of the screen and resonate with Chinese audiences, said the organizers.
