A yellow-glazed animal roof ornament displayed in the Jiexiu Museum, North China’s Shanxi province, has attracted lots of attention from visitors.
Combining the image of the lion god from the southern region, the ornament seems quite unusual with its lovely modeling and exaggerated expression among others displayed with it.
Jiexiu is famous for its color-glazed arts and crafts that can be traced to Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Various color-glazed ornaments have been precious treasures of the province’s traditional arts.
