Shanghai to host spate of coffee-related events

Shanghai will host its first coffee culture week from Mar 29 to Apr 11, according to a news conference held on Monday at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Shanghai.

Co-organized by the Shanghai Cultural and Creative Industry Promotion Association and the Shanghai Food Association, the opening ceremony of the culture week will be held at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on March 29.

A forum on the development of the coffee industry will also be held on that day.

Themed "Because of Coffee, So Shanghai", the two-week event will feature coffee-themed dramas, coffee maps, coffee passports and coffee industry exhibitions.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai International Coffee & Food Culture Festival will take place at HOTELEX SHANGHAI 2021 from March 29 to April 1. This event will gather 187 specialty cafe stores from across the world.

Six major international coffee competitions held by Sinoexpo Informa Markets, including the China finals of the World Barista Championship and Latte Art Championship, will also take place at HOTELEX SHANGHAI 2021.
