'Happy Chinese New Year' program, which celebrates the Spring Festival with cultural activities all around the world, has spread the joy to Thailand.
On Jan 14 at the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha sent forward New Year greetings to Chinese people. Pop idols from the recent hit TV drama The Untamed, appointed as ambassadors of the event, attended the opening ceremony and staged a performance.

The year of 2020 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Thailand. To attract online Thai youngsters, the celebration invited popular Chinese actors from recent online hit shows.
Over 150 artists from troupes around China will present Chinese art forms such as dance, music and martial arts in major Thai cities including Bangkok, Chiengmai, and Puket. Exhibitions on Chinese zodiac animals and Lantern Festival will also be held.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha expressed his best wishes to Chinese people in their mother tongue. He said the friendship between the two nations will be long-standing and prosperous.
Deputy Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul; Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn; Minister of Culture Ittipol Khunpluem; Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand Yang Xin; Cultural Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Thailand Chang Yumeng and Director of the China Cultural Center in Bangkok Gu Hongxing attended the event.
