According to Jean-Maurice Ripert, France's ambassador to China: "This year's festival will showcase our promise to protect the earth and boost sustainable development."

Provence is the "special promotion area" of this year's festival.

Meanwhile, the French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, says: "French cuisine reflects French culture and value, and attracts many visitors to France. And more than one third international tourists say they visit to enjoy French food and wine."
