"We have made products with traditional elements such as Tang suits and hanfu costumes. We would like to integrate our traditional culture with the contemporary products favored by young people, so as to promote our traditional culture," said Wang Ning, Chairman and CEO of Pop Mart International Group, an art toy maker in China.
The 10 winning plays from the Global Young Chinese Elites Project of Theater Directors were staged at the National Theater of China between Aug 23 and 25.
"From my perspective, authenticity is the key element in producing a drama," said Zhang Yongxin, director of the TV series The Age of Awaking.
"The responsibility of the National Theater of China is to attract more audience, especially young people, to watch Chinese dramas, and to empower Chinese dramas to go global to reach a wider audience around the world," said Tian Qinxin, president of the National Theater of China.
