Much of the classic Confucian thought of Confucius, Mencius, Zhu Xi, Wang Yangming, etc. was an attempt to respond to such a crisis by promoting humanistic values such as benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness, restoring a focus on the moral and ethical aspects of human nature.
In my opinion, the lasting charm of Confucius mainly comes from his pursuit of the inherent goodness of human nature, as well as his search for knowledge, morality, and truth, along with his extraordinary effort for building a world for the common good and an ideal society of Great.
