Since the Spring Festival, Miao villages in Rongshui county in Liuzhou city, South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have organized various Pohui festivals, to celebrate the new year.
Luo Jiansheng, or Peter Law, a Canadian-Chinese painter born in Foshan, Guangdong province, has been living abroad for decades. Still, he always thinks of his hometown when the Lantern Festival arrives and always hopes to celebrate this occasion at home. For this year’s Lantern Festival, he and his wife returned to Foshan and participated in the folk activity, Crossing the Tongji Bridge. The artist even created an ink painting depicting the liveliness surrounding this Foshan folk activity, expressing his eternal love for his hometown.
The Lantern Festival is an important traditional occasion that brings the Spring Festival to an end. Various activities are held in celebration of the festival across China.

This year, Lantern Festival falls on Sunday, marking the official end of the Spring Festival celebrations in China.
