Shanghai citizens watch a fireworks display during day time near Huangpu River in Shanghai, Aug 8, 2014. The fireworks were presented by celebrity Chinese artist Cai Guoqiang, before his solo exhibition Jiuji Lang (nine waves) at Power Station of Art in Shanghai. The fireworks lasted about 10 minutes and generated heavy smoke above Huangpu River, which led some surprised citizens to call the police 110 hotline. The artist is best known for his fireworks displays at the 2008 Beijing Olympics'opening and closing ceremonies.
