Zeng Chenggang, a leading sculptor in China, is presenting a large-scale exhibition at Shanghai Art Museum.
Running from Jan 22 to Apr 7, Between Heaven and Earth: Zeng Chenggang Sculpture Exhibition, marks the most comprehensive exhibition of the artist — encapsulating more than 40 years of his career.
The exhibition features 137 sculptures altogether, arranged in four chapters, with some large pieces designed for display outdoors in public spaces.
Zeng's creations are deeply rooted in the fertile soil of Chinese civilization, conveying profound and enduring artistic power through the majestic, solid — yet serene — characteristics of Oriental aesthetics, Sun Zhenhua, the academic director of the exhibition, said.
