Not only has the couple restored the carpets to their near-original glory, but they have also invented better preservation methods and, during the process, discovered long-forgotten knitting techniques.
The Aimer Art Gallery in Beijing pays tribute to the couple's dedication in carrying on these techniques and traditions in an exhibition running until Feb 20.
