The end-of-year ranking of privately-owned Beijing theater troupes was revealed on Jan 20 by the three organizations behind the annual listing — the Beijing Federation of Literary & Art Circles, the Beijing Theatre Association, and the privately-owned theater committee under the China Theatre Association.
Winners announced in eight categories, including for scriptwriter of the year, producer of the year, and actor of the year, were Hong Jindiao, who received actor of the year for his one-man puppetry production, Riding Alone, Guo Xiao, who also received actor of the year for the play, The Story of Chess, and Mahua FunAge, which received troupe of the year award.
