When asked to name the song most closely associated with Macao, many Chinese people would likely mention Song of the Seven Sons, written by the renowned patriotic poet Wen Yiduo. In a special China Daily program, the song's composer, Li Haiying, appeared at Tsinghua University —also the alma mater of Wen Yiduo. Under his direction, Macao's young singer, Long Chi-lam, joined multiple choruses in Beijing to perform this iconic piece, breathing new life into its enduring legacy.
