Family of modern sculptor donates his work to nation

The donation was made to mark the 120th anniversary of his birth, and to contribute to the research of modern artists at the China National Academy of Painting.

Liu Wanming, head of the academy, said that Liu Kaiqu's work serves as a profile of China and its people over the course of 20th-century; and more importantly, that he was part of efforts to create a monument to national spirit.
