Argentine diplomat expects a great future for China's football

On Sept 28, a series of activities of the 2024 "Discover China Cultural Tour" of Guizhou for Diplomats at the China-Guizhou Village Super League were held in Rongjiang county, Guizhou province.

Seven ambassadors and 24 diplomats from 15 countries including Argentina, Croatia, South Africa, Morocco, Mexico, Peru and Cuba, visited Guzhou Second Primary School to experience the football culture.

''We can see these kids' smiles and how they play and enjoy the sport,'' Agustín Gil Michel, the third secretary of the Argentine Embassy in China said after interacting with the students.

Cabrera Raul Sergio, a member of the diplomatic delegation was also impressed by the kids' performance.

''It's great to see how the school encourages them to learn and enjoy a sport like football, which is a team activity that needs acting collectively. I think it's an excellent activity that joins people together. ''

Argentina is one of the world's leading football countries with a profound football culture. This time, Michel came to Rongjiang to witness the villagers’ passion for football, especially the young children.

''It's very impressive how similar the passion is to what we have in Argentina,'' he said, adding ''I expect a great future for China's football.''
