Series highlights pop star's 'wild' determination

The documentary series Exploring the Unknown with Wang Yibo produced by Warner Bros Discovery recently aired on Tencent's video-sharing platform.

The show follows pop star Wang Yibo as he embarks on wilderness adventures with professional explorers.

In its first episode, Wang and explorer Xing Enxue travel to the Bawangling Natural Reserve in South China's Hainan province, navigating through forests, streams, gorges and waterfalls in search of gibbons.

As an outdoor novice, Wang learns various survival skills under the explorer's guidance, unlocking new life experiences. When dense vegetation blocks their view, Wang learns to climb trees using ropes to determine the way forward. Faced with a waterfall and cliff, he tries rappelling through the rushing waters while maneuvering between steep walls on both sides. To reach the gibbons' habitat, he challenges himself by crossing a river with buoyancy equipment for the first time, completing a long-distance water traverse.
