Zhejiang Performing Arts Group announced its 5th anniversary Beijing performance season on Tuesday.
From September to November, performances from dance drama, acrobatic shows to traditional Chinese folk music, will be staged in Beijing.
Highlights will include the dance drama, titled Wind Rises from Dachen Island, which revolves around the ideals and struggles of two generations in building Dachen Island, Taizhou in Zhejiang province.
Between Water and Mountains, a music piece by composer Wang Danhong, who spent three years researching and composing it for the Zhejiang National Orchestra — an orchestra devoted to performing and popularizing traditional Chinese music — will also be presented in the capital. The music piece features six movements, depicting the landscape of Zhejiang and the profound cultural heritage of its people.
Acrobatic show, Safe and Sound, is the third collaboration between the Zhejiang Quyi Acrobatic Troupe and director Guo Hongbo. It narrates the history of Zhejiang.
