Tea, originating from China and celebrated worldwide, carries a rich history and profound cultural significance.

On July 26th, an exhibition featuring exquisite tea culture artifacts officially opened at the Hebei Museum. Co-hosted by the Palace Museum and Hebei Museum, this exhibition marks the second stop of the global tour "Palace Museum and the World of Tea ".

The exhibition is divided into four sections: "Exquisite Palace Teas," "Qianlong and Tea," "Origins and Evolution of Tea Practices," and "Tea Fragrance in Yan Zhao." It features 160 artifacts and historical materials from the collections of the Palace Museum, Hebei Museum, and China National Tea Museum. These pieces narrate the development of Chinese tea culture, highlighting its historical journey, regional connections, ethnic integration, and global impact.

In November 2022, "Traditional Chinese Tea Processing Techniques and Associated Social Practices" were inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This recognition underscores the cultural value of Chinese tea culture. The collaboration between the Palace Museum and Hebei Museum for this exhibition aims to tell the story of China through the medium of tea.

The exhibition will run from July 26 to Oct 27, 2024.
