The production draws its name from its thematic elements: "flower" (hua'er) symbolizing Ningxia, renowned for its musical tradition known as hua'er, and "sea" representing Fujian province, situated along the eastern coast of China.
Incorporating folk dance styles from both Ningxia and Fujian, the performance also integrates contemporary dance forms, offering a rich and diverse artistic experience.
This dance drama forms part of the ongoing celebratory events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Beijing Dance Academy.
Established in 1993, the Xiamen Little Egret Folk Dancing Art Center originated from a Chinese folk dance class at the Beijing Dance Academy, forging a unique and enduring bond between the art center and the esteemed academy.
