The Beijing College Student Dance Festival concluded on June 14 with a gala held at the Beijing Dance Academy.
With a diversity of programs, including live performances, workshops and masterclasses, more than 2,700 students from 57 colleges in Beijing joined in the festival, which kicked off on May 27.
Original dance works were showcased both in theaters and online. Forty-five dance pieces were staged in theaters and 31 original works were streamed online.
The themes of original works range from traditional Chinese culture, revolutionary stories and historic events.
Top artists, including dancer and choreographer Vladimir Malakhov and Tony nominated Broadway choreographer and director, Joey McKneely, were among the artists giving masterclasses to students — both dance major students and amateurs.
