China National Academy of Painting has viewed enlarging its assembly of art one of the missions it carries as a public institution. One latest donation it received was from the established ink artist Zhang Daoxing who gifted 48 paintings and 20 calligraphic pieces.
Having worked with ink for decades, Zhang has created a body of paintings focused on ethnic groups and military life. The donated works are on show at Zhang’s exhibition at the China National Academy of Painting through May 15. The exhibition also displays seal impressions to reflect his endeavors in the traditional engraving art and how this form has influenced his other creations.
