Classic Chinese art awe at auctioneer's major sales in Beijing

From a lotus painting by Bada Shanren, a legendary monk artist in the 17th century, to a collection of well-kept vintage books exemplifying the refinement of Song Dynasty (960-1279) printing, from a calligraphic piece that ink master Qi Baishi, at the age of 87, wrote for a close friend to a landscape in which modern painter Huang Zhou depicted the extensive desert scenery, Shi Zhu Zhai joins the booming scene of art market in Beijing by bringing fine specimens of classic Chinese art into its sale rooms.

Its major sales are held in the capital city present Chinese paintings, calligraphy works, ancient books and manuscripts, and ceramics to hail the depth and scope of a country's cultural traditions.
