Collectors are returning to preview exhibitions and salesrooms in the spring as art auctions are back on the capital's cultural agenda.

Yongle Auction will offer some 3,000 objects from different categories during its major sales from Wednesday to Friday in Beijing.

Highlights include works by prominent artists whose productions reflect the evolution of Chinese art from the 20th century to today, including Chu Teh-chun and Wu Guanzhong, who endeavored to usher the figurative tradition into the semi-abstract realm.

The section of classic Chinese painting and calligraphy continues to inspire people's interest in the depth and scope of the Chinese ink art tradition and discovering more figures less known.
