One of the most famous verses of the eighth-century poet Du Fu reads that "very few people would live to 70 years old".

Although the life expectancy has greatly prolonged today, this poetic line is still quoted often, though with different implications.

For ink artist and scholar Feng Yuan, aging and especially reaching 70 have made him feel a deeper urge to create, as he feels that he has accomplished enough in the realm of art.

His one-man show, Untold Implications, which ended on Sunday at Tsinghua University Art Museum, brought together more than 180 works spanning across four decades. In his work, Feng dwells on the relations between men and history, art and society, providing an insight of the changes of people's mentality.
