While freezing temperatures have now arrived in much of Northeast China, residents in Changchun, Jilin province, still have an opportunity to enjoy the splendor of golden leaves during the final days of autumn.
Leaves from larch trees have turned a bright yellow along a pedestrian walk at a botanical garden in the city, and many visitors have come to appreciate the rich autumn scenery.
The 580-meter avenue is lined by 2,050 larch trees on both sides. After decades' growth, they have become a natural forest farm.
In late autumn, the yellow leaves hang on the branches and then fall on the ground, forming a unique landscape that is affectionately called the golden avenue by residents.
