Artist Zhuang Qiuyan, 35, has created numerous works of cloisonne enamel since she opened her workshop in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, 12 years ago.
Born into a family with strong artistic interests, Zhuang pursued fine arts since childhood and began to learn cloisonne enamel in 2009.
After gaining basic skills, she combined traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics for such things as bookmarks, plates and tea tables.
Her exquisite works have attracted many visitors and aspiring students. So far, she has taught nearly 100 students, from age 6 to 80.
"I hope to make more people in the country aware of traditional Chinese culture," she said. "I also hope to see more art integrated into daily life."
